Just one of those days…
Thanks for trying to clean it up bud.
The last week of March was a bad one for Ryan. We thought he had croup and it ended up being RSV.
I’ve never seen my little guy so miserable. These pictures say it all.
The rest of us got sick too, it seems we’ve been sick the whole months of February and March.
Laura:
Loves kindergarten, although homework seems to be getting a little old
Loves to read chapter books at night with me or Brent and
Is starting to read on her own too.
Is just starting to play chords and harmony on the piano
and adores her piano teacher Brittney Keil.
We’re still working on staying focused, but hey, she’s only 5.
Is a really great big sister and plays with Eden every spare moment.
Eden:
Can’t wait to turn 4. Every day she tells me she’s going to be four tomorrow!
Loves Sunbeams, although she gets really sad if she doesn’t get picked to help with the games.
Will play by herself for hours in her room.
Her favorite toys are her ‘little people’. They go on many wild adventures.
Misses Laura when she’s at school, they’re such good friends.
She had a growth spurt overnight and I had to change out all of her shirts and pants in one day.
Eden and Ryan are starting to clash because Ryan messes up her little people. She has to share
with him everywhere except her room. So she spends a lot of time in her room:)
Ryan:
Loves to get into mischief.
Turned 18 months!
After many months of anticipation Ryan started going to nursery, and hates it!
His best friend is Bear (Brrr) and his blanket (ankit).
Still sleeps a solid 12 to 13 hours a night and has a two hour nap during the day.
Eats as much as the girls.
Is happiest when he’s outside, even if it’s in stroller.
Poor Ryan, wherever we go he’s in the minority. First it’s with my side of the family, 7 other little girl cousins, and now it’s on our street! Here’s Eden hanging out with Alley, Breanna, Morgan, Malia (her bestest little friend) and Ava. Poor guy, we’ve got to get you some friends.
Laura and I work on homework most days, unfortunately the novelty of kindergarten is starting to wear off and she’s getting a little whiney about getting it done.
Daily Jobs: Make bed, get dressed and hair done, put jammies away, practice piano and make sure homework is done and put in backpack before lunch. When the girls get their jobs done they get a dime. It’s helping Laura work on addition and coin values. The ultimate award: finally earning a dollar and getting to go the dollar store where they can pick out anything they want!
The other morning I came downstairs to find that a little people’s hospital had appeared in my kitchen!
Surgical Team: Doctor Laura and Nurse Eden
The patient: The Princess
Procedure: Tonsillectomy (just like our cousin Katie Stafford)
Prognosis: Would be better if we could get that chopstick into her throat
We celebrated Eden’s fourth birthday by throwing a little party.
All 8 of the little girls in the neighborhood came, the weather was perfect, all the kids got along, and we had a great time.
We played monkey games ( monkey in the middle, banana banana monkey! and Monkey says), had a little lunch including bananas,
painted jungle animal wooden masks (oops no picture of the finished product) and had cake and ice cream and presents.
The birthday girl, as she’s insisted on being called all day, smiled the whole time in sweet Edee style.
After Daddy got home we pulled out Eden’s two surprises, a scooter just her size (Ryan is demonstrating in the picture), and a new sandbox.
We’re going to finish off the day with a macaroni and cheese and chicken nugget dinner. yum!
Love you little girlie!
March 2010
Sarah and Nate came down to go out to dinner with Troy and Heidi, so we got all the girls!
It was a lot of fun to have them over.
\We played with dominos, and the girls ran around in dress ups, and of course had brownies and ice cream.
After getting a ‘Fancy Nancy’ book from the library, we decided to have our own ‘fancy party’.
The girls dressed in their finest duds, we had ‘pasta parmesana’
(fancy for mac and cheese with veggies), and grilled stuffed pitas
(fancy for pita sandwiches) and Soda with straws.
We are the fanciest girls around.
